One of the things I love about being an internet marketer is that I get to use my thirty five years of marketing and sales background and combine it with high-tech, savvy internet skills to create astounding results for my forward-thinking clients.
When I started out in sales, I did not do well. But as fate would have it, I went to work for America’s foremost business philosopher, Jim Rohn. I went on to work for several other top sales trainers and motivational speakers. Eventually, I became a consultant to motivational speakers sales trainers.
Then at the height of my career the unthinkable happened- the motivational industry took a major nose dive. So, I went to work for an IT company that sold software to the government. While I was working for this IT company in marketing I had one of those life changing “aha moments.” I realized All sales and marketing was moving to the internet!
So at 52 years of age, I headed back to the classroom. I had to learn the nitty gritty of how to build websites and HTML code and boring geeky stuff like that. I started by earning a certificate in internet marketing. However that was really just the beginning of a new path.
The ever-changing field of internet sales demands constant training. So I continued my training by every, earning a certificate from the e-marketing association.
One of the things I learned from my mentor, Jim Rohn was to be life-long learner.
Becoming a life-long learner is an absolute must in internet marketing. What worked six months ago will not work today. I must constantly attend webinars, read reports, and search for blogs from other industry leaders.” –Dana
